NodeBook Editor Help
I. Basic Navigation
Central node
Click/Double click: It opens its content in Edit mode, and in view mode it opens its content only if it has any content (not empty).
Child node:
Click on a Child node: It makes it the central node and shows its children (if any).
Double Click on a child node: It opens its content in Edit mode, and in view mode it opens only if it has any content (not empty).
Click on space between nodes: It goes to parent node.
II. Menu bar
File menu
New : Creates a new NodeBook file
Open: Opens an existing NodeBook file
Save as: Saves a NodeBook file into a new one
Settings: Change NodeBook file settings. If primary language is Arabic, tabs order is from right to left, otherwise it is from let to right.
Close: Closes existing NodeBook file, but keeps the NodeBook Editor application open.
Exit: Closes the NodeBook Editor window and quits the application.
Edit menu
Enable editing : Allows editing of the current NodeBook file
Disable editing: Disables editing of the current NodeBook file
Note: The same functionality can be achived by turning on/off Edit slider button
Node menu
Insert child node : Inserts a new child node as the last child of the current central node.
(Order of nodes is clockwise.)
Edit central node name: Edit the name of the current central node.
Copy central node: Copies the current central node and all its children with their contents into clipboard.
It can be pasted anywhere in the same NodeBook or into another NodeBook (Need to close the current NodeBook and create or open another one).
Paste node as a child: Inserts copied node (if any) and all its children with their contents as the last child of the current central node.
Save central node as: Saves current central node and all its children with their contents into a new NodeBook file.
Delete central node: Deletes the current central node and all its children with their contents and returns to the parent node (root node can not be deleted).
III. Three-dot menu for central node
It has the same items as the Node menu in the menu bar.
IV. Three-dot menu for child node
It has the similar items as the central node menu with the following changes:
Insert sibling node : Inserts a new sibling node that follows the current child of in order.
(Order of nodes is clockwise.)
Move node forward: Swap the order of the current child node with the next child.
If it is already the last child, it is swapped with the first child.
Move node backward: Swap the order of the current child node with the previous child.
If it is already the first child, it is swapped with the last child.
Paste node as a sibling: Inserts copied node as a sibling node after the current child node in order.
V. Tab menu
Insert tab : Inserts a new tab after the current tab.
Edit tab name: Edit the name of the current tab.
Copy tab: Copy the content of the current tab (to be pasted in the same node or another node or even another NodeBook)
Paste tab: Inserts a tab copied earlier after the current tab.
Delete tab: Deletes the current tab and its contents.
